Roanoke High School Senior | Mason S.

Last year I had the opportunity to photograph a senior from Roanoke, IL named Krista. She was one of our spokesmodels and it was a pleasure working with her and her family. (Session 1. Session 2) She told me that her brother would be graduating next year and that he would give me a call when he was ready for his session. Earlier this spring we had a giveaway, from our new website and blog launch and Krista was our top winner. She used one of her giveaways for her brother Mason.

Mason S – Roanoke High School 2012 Senior

We had a great session with Mason. We ended up at 3 different locations for this session. First we headed to his father’s farm. Mason wanted a country look and feel, so that was an easy choice. We even got the chance to photograph a few of his pigs he shows in 4H. We’ve been getting a lot of comments on that shot over on our Facebook page. But Mason isn’t all country all the time. He also plays baseball and basketball for Roanoke High School. Check out his portraits below and make sure you comment at the bottom to let us know what you think!

And if you are wondering, yes the pig is smiling too.

O’Fallon Township High School Senior | Rachel S.

Good afternoon world

Sooooo glad to be back in Glen Carbon. I’ve been up north in my hometown helping family and launching my mother’s new business (stay tuned). It’s hard to be “in the office” when you are 3 hours away, in the middle of no where, and have to work on your 3inch iPhone screen. Amazing phone, but there is no way you can do any type of blogging on there. It would be like typing out a super long text the size of a short story. Not happening. Before I left for my extended leave we had the opportunity to photograph a senior from O’Fallon IL.

Rachel S. – O’Fallon Township High School

Rachel was so easy to photograph and work with. She had an amazing session as you’ll soon see below. Miss S is going to be graduating from O’Fallon Township High School. She plans on going to college after high school and is thinking about majoring in Special Education at SIUE. Her favorite class this semester is Trigonometry.

When Rachel isn’t studying she might be found working at Abercrombie (Awesome hoodies). One of her favorite places to shop, other than Abercrombie, is The Buckle. Rachel is so right. Best. Jeans. Ever. Rachel is also a part of FCA at school and is training to run a 5K soon.

Being a representative for David Schertz Photography Rachel is giving out discounts to all her friends. With her card, you’ll get $50 towards your portraits. So if you know her or see her in the halls of EHS, be sure to ask her for a card!

With school in full swing for this year, don’t think that there isn’t time left to get your senior portraits done. Don’t wait too long though. You’ll want to have time to share your images with friends and family. To book your senior session, call (309) 264-9334 or click here to send us a message. We’ll be excited to work with you!

And now introducing, 2012 Senior Spokesmodel, Rachel S.

We’re looking forward to working with Rachel again in the near future. Let us know what you think about her portraits in the comment box below.

Edwardsville High School Senior | Tayler R

Hey! Hey! Hey!

How’s everyone doing today? We’ve been quite busy ourselves and have been falling behind on blog posts. Luckily, after downing this amazing smoothie for breakfast, I’m ready to introduce you to one of our Senior Spokesmodels.

Tayler R. – Edwardsville High School

We had a great time working with Tayler. She rocked her session as you’ll soon see below. Miss R is going to be graduating from Edwardsville High School this December. She plans on going to college after school is done and is thinking about heading to Lewis and Clark Community College. Her favorite classes this semester are Psychology and Sports Lit.

When Tayler isn’t working on her academics she likes to go shopping, boating, and being outdoors. Some of her favorite places to shop are Coach, Nordstrom, and The Buckle. I would have to agree with her on The Buckle. They have the best jeans ever!

When I asked her if she preferred books or movies, it was quite obvious that she was a reader. Last time I checked with her, she was reading a Max Tucker book. (I was like Max Who? If it’s not a movie, I probably haven’t heard of it) And speaking of hearing things, we also found out that she loves listening to country music. Now I don’t have a preference to a specific genre of  secular music, but if I had to pick one, it would be country. Tayler said she’s getting into Luke Bryan (Good choice Tayler)

Being a representative for David Schertz Photography Tayler is giving out discounts to all her friends. With her card, you’ll get $50 towards your portraits. So if you know her or see her in the halls of EHS, be sure to ask her for a card!

Edwardsville High School Senior | Diarra C

Good morning Everyone!

Time to kick off Thursday morning with a senior session. Let’s learn a little bit about one of our spokesmodels, Diarra.

Diarra was the first senior this summer to contact us. After exploring our site he was convinced he wanted us to be his senior photographer. After exploring the EHS website, we were convinced he would be a good match. We checked out the sports page and his picture was plastered all over the place.

Diarra is a 2012 senior at Edwardsville High School. His favorite class this year is Consumers Ed. He loves sports though. He runs track/hurdles and plays basketball. He wants to take his sports career further and into college and play basketball.

Being a representative for David Schertz Photography, Diarra is giving out discounts to all his friends. With his card, you’ll get $50 towards your portraits. So if you know him or see him in the halls of EHS, be sure to ask him for a card!

With school in full swing for this year, don’t think that there isn’t time left to get your senior portraits done. Don’t wait too long though. You’ll want to have time to share your images with friends and family. To book your senior session, call (309) 264-9334 or click here to send us a message. We’ll be excited to work with you!

And now without further delay, 2012 Senior Spokesmodel, Diarra C.

Mexico through the lens of an iPhone

Recently I took a trip to Mexico. Just like every vacation, I take my camera gear to capture those great shots. Actually, I don’t take all my gear. If something happened to any of it, it would turn my vacation into a nightmare. It’s nice to get a great high-res picture. Hopefully finding something nice enough to decorate our home with. The problem with a DSLR is that you have to carry a bulky bag with you everywhere. And nothing says “I’m a tourist” like a big bulky camera hanging from your shoulder.

Luckily, I have a good camera phone. My iPhone is always in my pocket. With a decent camera and some editing apps, anyone can take a cellphone picture and turn it into a memory. One of my favorite apps is Instagram. It’s like Twitter or Facebook, but a photography version. With built-in effects and accessibility to post to Twitter or Facebook, it’s a great app for anyone who likes photography and uses those social outlets.

Now these aren’t photos that I would want to print out due to grain and quality, but they’re perfect for my desktop background or cellphone background. Here are a few of my iPhone photos from our trip. Enjoy!
