Lacey & Riley | Love and Rain

Today has been a Awesome day for us. We’ve successfully launched our new blog, new website, new newsletter for our VIPs and a Facebook page. I’ve been a busy, busy boy. Due to this awesome busyness, I’ve been slacking majorly on the blog posts. Which is like never a good thing.

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph a good friend of mine Lacey Durst and another old friend Riley Hanrahan. When I heard that the two of them started dating I was very excited. Flash forward a few months in the future and it’s wedding time. Every good wedding needs engagement photos to go along with it.

Picture this: Four PM, decent light, and we’re walking out to the car to drive to the shoot. Close the door, back out of the parking space, and it starts to sprinkle. No big deal. We’ll still shoot. It’s not enough to even notice. Drive 5 minutes or so. Get the gear out and make magic happen…

The shoot started out great and then BOOOOM! Mega torrential downpour. Like pouring cats and dogs (and I hate cats).

Dave – “Lacey. We have two options. 1. reschedule the shoot. or 2. keep on going. What would you like to do?”

Lacey – “I’m ok. We can keep going. What do you think Riley”

Riley – “Sure. I’m fine with that”

Dave – ” Really?” I was shocked. “Well, let’s rock these out then and get come sexy shots then!”

I love the rain. I love… Love. When you combine the two, I’m a very happy photographer. By the looks of it, they are very happy clients.
